Twenty minutes outside, in the warm, soft light just before sunset. I came up shooting concerts, so there's no stiff, say-cheese posing here: I give you a little direction, then I catch the real stuff. The laughing, the wiggling, the looking at each other.
I'm a Sacramento photographer who shoots families, couples, pets and everything in between, and these minis are for all of it. Bring the whole crew, your best friend, your dog, your bearded dragon, or just yourself. If you can get to a public park, you belong in the picture.

Choose your day and time
Five sessions a day, timed backward from each day's sunset so you always get the warm light. Golden hour shifts earlier as fall goes on, so every date has its own times. In Sacramento you pick your park. Pick a time, tell me who's coming, and reserve it with $75. Everything happens right here. Heads up: Oct 17 + 18 are in Reno, not Sacramento. Want a different location? Request one.
Sessions are 20 minutes. Times that are booked are crossed out. Sunset drops about an hour on Nov 1 when the clocks change, so those times jump earlier.

The $75 retainer is non-refundable and goes toward your $185 total. The remaining $110 is due before your session. After you pay, I'll email your confirmation and the exact meeting spot.

Don't see a spot that works? Request a location. If 5 or more families book, I'll come to you. Gather your friends, neighbors or school crew, tell me where you'd like to shoot, and I'll let you know once it's a go. Requesting is free and doesn't book anything.

Where does it happen?
In Sacramento you pick your park when you book: Capitol Park, Curtis Park or McKinley Rose Garden. On Oct 17 and 18 the minis are in Reno at Chickadee Ridge. I'll email the exact meeting spot and parking tips after you book.
Are there Sacramento sessions on Oct 17 + 18?
No. I'm in Reno that weekend shooting at Chickadee Ridge, so Sacramento is closed Oct 17 and 18. Sacramento sessions pick back up the next weekend.
Can I request a location?
Yes. Use the Request a location button. If 5 or more families book at your location, I'll come to you.
Who can book a fall mini?
Families, couples, kids of any age, grandparents, friends, solo portraits and holiday card photos, with or without pets.
Can we bring our pet?
Yes, at no extra charge, and not just dogs. Cats, bunnies, birds, bearded dragons, snakes: any animal that's allowed in a public park is welcome. Dogs stay leashed the whole time (I edit the leash out of your photos). Smaller animals come in your arms, on a harness, or in a carrier between shots. Bring treats, and tell me about your crew in the form so I can plan around them.
Why are the times different on each day?
I build every session backward from sunset so the last one finishes while there's still good light under the trees. That's why you won't see the same times all fall: sunset moves earlier each week (and about an hour earlier when the clocks change on Nov 1), so each date gets its own schedule and the warmest light lands in the later slots.
What should we wear?
Whatever feels like you. Comfortable layers work well for fall, and colors that sit nicely together look better than perfectly matching outfits. Skip big logos if you can.
What if the weather's bad?
If the forecast looks rough, I'll reach out two days before so we can talk through options.
When do I get my photos?
Five edited high-resolution photos, delivered within five days of your session.

The session is $185. A $75 non-refundable retainer reserves your time and goes toward the total. The remaining $110 is due before your session.
